Honda Racing are historically one of the most successful teams in BSB. However the last time they won the British Superbike Title was back in 2013 with Alex Lowes, a statistic Team manager Havier (Harvey) Beltran wants to update at the end of this season!!
Riders remain unchanged for 2018. Both Jason O’Halloran & Dan Linfoot continue in the Premier Class for the Louth based squad for a fourth consecutive year. Jason, incidentally also celebrating his 11th year as an official Honda rider (Supersport, Stock 1000 & Superbike)
Linfoot made the ‘Showdown’ top 6 in both 2015 & 2016, but was to finish 10th overall whilst helping develop the new Honda Fireblade.
2017 was indeed a full year of development for the whole Honda UK Team.. However, such was the progress, that by September Dan was able to secure his maiden BSB victory at Silverstone. He then made a second visit to the top step of the podium at Oulton Park just one week later!
Despite ‘the work in hand’ it was a better season for the ‘O’Show’ who made it into the prestigious Showdown. Eventually placing 5th overall the affable Aussie visited the podium on 4 separate occasions last season, his best result of second coming in the final race of the series at Brands Hatch.
Now with a full years development behind them, along an extensive pre-seasons testing, both riders intend to reap the rewards of last years hard work. Both should be ‘hot to trot’ from the opening race and will be targeting a place in the all coveted Showdown phase.
