Honda (UK) have retained the services of both Dan Linfoot & Jason O’Halloran to spearhead their assault on this years premier domestic Superbike Championship.
With both riders surprising many a pundit by making the ‘Showdown’ Phase last year on the ‘old’ bike, even greater things are expected of the talented pairing this time around, particularly as they are armed with the all new & improved ‘fly by wire’ Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade SP2.
4th overall in last years series, this will be Linfoot’s 3rd consecutive season with the team. The Yorkshire man will certainly be intent on scoring his maiden BSB race victory as early in the campaign as he can, before again seeking to become one of the Showdown six.
For Aussie O’Halloran, this will be his seventh year riding a Honda, albeit just his 3rd on the Superbike (including missing half of ‘15 with broken femur).
Finishing 5th overall, the ‘O Show’ had some memorable races in 2016, including scoring his maiden Superbike win, plus 6 further trips to the podium.
Historically one of the most successful teams in BSB, the Havier (Harvey) Beltran led team will be intent on putting Honda, and the new Fireblade back to Championship winning ways.
For the talented duo to be serious title challengers this year however, much will depend upon how quickly the team develops the new bike for the track.
