Team Traction Control
Owned by Prodigy front man, and self confessed ‘bike nut’ Keith Flint, the team made an impressive debut in the British Supersports Championship last year – but it’s all change for 2016.
In a surprise move, James Westmorland joins the team, having raced in British Superbikes for the last 5 years, and following an unsettling 2015 (which incidentally included a brilliant third place finish at Thruxton), felt that he needed the change.
His last Supersport season was 2011, when he finished as Runner up in the British Championship behind Sam Lowes.
A rider of immense talent, ‘Westy’ should be on the case from the start of the season, and will be one of the favourites to take this years Title.
His team mate is former Moto3 British Champion, Joe Francis, who remains with the team for a second term. Having started last year in the National Superstock 600’s (best finishes of third at Donington, Oulton & Snetterton), before upgrading to the British Supersports for the final three rounds.
The lanky teenager fully merits his place in the team. Quietly spoken, he will be one of the ‘dark horses’ this year.
The team will again be involved in the TT with Ian Hutchinson. No surprise there, as much to the undisguised delight of Keith Flint, ‘Hutchy’ won both Supersport races on the TTC Yamaha last year!
