With a history dating back to 1989, and as long time partners with Yamaha machinery, leading satellite team Monster Yamaha Tech3 certainly appears to be preparing for the future.
In comes the very impressive double World Champion Johann Zarco along with Moto2 race winner, German Jonas Folger.
World Moto2 Champion in 2015, Zarco, from Cannes on the Cote D’Azure scored an impressive seven poles and seven race victories to retain his Title last year.
Whilst Bavarian Folger splashed his way to a ‘lights to flag’ victory at a very wet Brno, en route to placing seventh place overall in the final standings.
It will be interesting to see just how quickly the pairing adjust to the mighty YZR-M1 and racing at Moto GP level. In reality, both have enough in their armoury, and are more than capable of making a seamless transition.
Just don’t bet against one or two surprise results from the Team this season!
