It’s an all new rider line up at the factory supported Buildbase Hawk Suzuki team for 2020, which sees the vastly experienced Keith Farmer paired alongside class apprentice Kyle Ryde.
Four times British Champion (Stock 600, Supersport & two time Stock 1000), the County Tyrone man becomes the teams lead rider.
He was enjoying a solid start to the 2019 Superbike season before his year was dramatically cut short after breaking both legs in a crash during qualifying for the Knockhill round in June.
Now back to full fitness the ‘Clogher Bullet’ is set vto vindicate his selection. His goal is to battle for one of the places in the Showdown phase. The GSX-R1000 has shown it is a winning bike, and Farmer certainly has the speed to be running top six on a regular basis.
Kyle Ryde, the 2019 British GP2 Champion and former 125 & Stock 600 National Champion, steps up to the Superbikes for his first serious attack on the Premier class (did contest final round of BSB in 2017 & opening 3 rounds the following year ).
A naturally gifted rider, the one off ride on the Stock 1000 Buildbase Suzuki at Donington Park last October where he qualified 4th fastest, swayed Hawk Racing bosses Stuart & Steven Hicken to give him the Superbike ride this year. It will be a big learning year for 22 year old (23 in July).
Hawk Racing, being the parent company, was formed by ex racer Stuart Hicken & has been contesting the British Championships since the late 90’s. Managed today by both Stuart & his son Stephen, the team continues to enjoy sponsorship from national builders merchants, Buildbase.
