Bradley Ray remains with the Buildbase Suzuki team for a third consecutive season, and is joined by World Supersport returnee Luke Stapleford for the Official Japanese manufacturers assault on the 2019 Bennetts BSB Championship.
Without doubt, Bradley Ray is one of this country’s most naturally gifted and talented riders. However, despite claiming a Showdown berth following double wins at the Donington Park opener, plus a further three second places during the year, it was a season that overall delivered less than his talents merited, eventually finishing 6th in the standings.
The bespectacled rider from Lydd in Kent has yet to win any senior National Championship…..he could just put that right come seasons end! Luke Stapleford returns to domestic duties following three seasons overseas contesting the World Supersport Championship. For the 2015 British Supersport title winner, it will be his first full season on a superbike, although he has had a handful of wildcard rides in BSB over the past couple of years. His Rookie year will not be easy. He is up against some world class riders, but under the guidance of vastly experienced team owner Stuart Hicken and his son Stephen, should quickly adapt to riding a Superbike.
Completing the team, is the jovial Richard Cooper, and despite finishing 12th in BSB last term (including a jaw dropping wet weather victory at the Brands Hatch final race of the season) is tasked with winning for Buildbase Suzuki, the National Superstock 1000 title, having previously won it in 2011, plus runner-up in 2017. And by way of a bonus………. should the need arise, he could always slot straight back onto a Superbike!
