Principally, the team uses replica Suzuki XR69 machines, one of the all time great F1 bikes and back in the early ‘80’s, Suzuki’s XR69 was THE bike to have for F1 Superbike racing. Utilising the air cooled four cylinder four stroke GSXR 1000 motor, and prepared by the legendary Pop’s Yoshimura, was good for around 135bhp at 9500rpm.Results recorded by the original factory Suzuki XR69 were indeed impressive. In 1980 Kiwi Graeme Crosby won the prestigious Daytona 200 event, before claiming the TT F1 World Championship. He also teamed with American Wes Cooley to win the Suzuka 8 hour race. The following year Crosby retained his TT F1 World Crown, plus adding the British TT F1 title.
In 1982 Roger Marshall proved to be just about unbeatable riding the factory XR69, winning British F1 and British Solo Championships as well as the Ulster Grand Prix…..plus Suzuki XR69 mounted Joey Dunlop, victor of the 1980 Ulster Grand Prix, Mick Grant 3rd in the British F1 Series and 1983 & ‘84 TT winner, Rob McElnea.
