In what could well turn out to be his final year in MotoGP, Cal Crutchlow, for the sixth year running, remains with the LCR Team.
The popular Englishman has gone on record, musing that retirement at the end of this 2020 season is a real possibility.
However, his current ambition to win races remains undiminished with his sights still firmly set upon winning the championship.
Returning from a near career ending ankle injury, Cal placed a fantastic 3rd at the season opening Qatar MotoGP, further adding a 3rd in Germany plus a brilliant 2nd place finish to Marc Marquez in Australia.
‘The Dog’ ultimately placed eighth overall in the 2019 championship, making him the second best Hondas rider, behind Champion Marquez.
WSS Champion of 2009, he is also a three-time MotoGP race winner, and when he won the 2016 Czech Republic MotoGP became the first British winner in the Premier Class in 35 years.
Takaaki Nakagami remains with the LCR Team for a second term, but unlike Crutchlow, does not get the latest bike. He will be riding the Marc Marquez championship winning 2019 spec Honda.
2019 was a good solid year for the Japanese National, claiming nine top 10 finishes, and a best of 5th at Mugello, to place 13th in the final standings. Due to a re-occurring shoulder injury sustained earlier at Assen, he was forced to sit out the final three races.
For sponsorship reasons, both riders will run under a different name & livery. Crutchlow, will be tagged LCR Honda Castrol, whilst Nakagami will run under the mantel of LCR Honda IDEMITSU.
