The last time the team got a rider into the ‘Showdown’ of BSB was back in 2015. Team owners Philip Neill and his father, Hector are confident that their 2019 rider line up of Christian Iddon and Keith Farmer are capable of confining that statistic to history.
Run under the TAS Racing banner out of Moneymore, County Londonderry, NI., the team continue as the official BMW Motorrad supported squad in BSB. They also retain Tyco Security Products as their loyal and long standing title partners.Christian Iddon stays put with Tyco BMW Motorrad for a fourth consecutive year, and in reality, but for injury in both 2017 (finished 7th overall) and again last year (finished 9th), the Stockport, Cheshire rider could well have made it into the ‘Showdown’. A skilfull all rounder, has also raced Supermoto successfully at both British and International level.
His team mate Keith Farmer, from Co.Tyrone, is a four time National / British Champion – having won National Superstock 600 and British Supersports titles, plus twice winning the National Superstock 1000 Championship – and just like Iddon, is also pretty handy on a Supermoto bike, having put his name to a number of Irish Titles. For ‘The Clogher Bullet’ it’s a welcome return to the premier class, having raced alongside Shane Byrne for Paul Bird Motorsport back in 2013.
As 2018 Stock 1000 Series winner for Tyco BMW, should readily adapt to the more powerful BMW S1000RR Superbike. Tyco BMW Motorrad are also fielding the very talented Andy Reid in this years National Superstock 1000 Championship with ‘roads’ specialist and 18 time TT winner, Michael Dunlop signing for a second consecutive year.
